sima was the lucky beautician that got to deal with me & she helped me through what might've easily been a traumatic experience incredibly professionally! i'd expected the whole waxing thing to be as painful as what I'd expect childbirth to feel like but it wasn't nearly as terrible as I'd imagined. I had to give Shobha five stars because of how (relatively) painless & unawkward this whole experience was. i appreciate how sima was pleasant & friendly enough to make me feel comfortable even as she had me lying spread-eagle on the table in front of her. I will definitely be returning! |

Shobha causes you to say something you never thought you'd hear: "what a pleasant hair-removing experience!" i've gone to both locations (soho, & more recently, broadway) - eyebrows shaped better than anywhere else, threading or wax, and the women always have exceptionally soft, nice-smelling hands while they pluck out your hairs in tiny painful rips. the interior is beautiful & relaxing. twenty dollars for eyebrows is pricier than I usually like to spend, but it's a splurge that's totally worth it. |

today is my first day in New York. do I unpack my stuff? go grocery shopping? nope! I go get a brazilian!i sn't that what everyone does?? Shobha was a very relaxing environment. i had an appointment with Jamuna & she was great! she made me feel very comfortable (well...as comfortable as you can be when you are getting the hair in your nether regions ripped off) & was super friendly. i just moved from California ... the motherland of bikini waxes...they do a great job here & make sure every single hair is taken care of. first day in NYC & I already found my waxing place...SCORE!! |

Shobha has officially converted me to threading. i have an unsual shape to my eyebrows which has resulted in me being the victim of several botched waxing jobs. after a couple of attempts to find a salon in manhattan, i had given up hope & resorted to just taking care of my eyebrows myself. i tried Shobha after hearing a couple of friends talk about how much they liked the salon & the rest is eyebrow history! i found the threading to be comparable to waxing (in terms of pain) but the results aesthetically far exceeded my expectations. promila shaped my eyebrows into the exact shape that they should be with exceptional precision. i'm definitely building every other week trips to Shobha into my schedule! | |

I LOVE SHOBHA. I'm always taken promptly & I always feel well taken care of. I have had particularly great experiences with kavita (who is FAST) & Jamuna, & would highly recommend either of them. honestly though, i've never had a bad experience at either location that I've visited regardless of who my waxer was. trust me, i never thought when I began waxing all those years ago that I would actually claim to "love" anyone who committed such vicious acts against my most private of parts. however they do it as painlessly & as well as they possibly can. |

amazing! i have been going to Shobha (westside location) for quite some time now... i think jamuna (who is out on maternity leave) does the best job, but all the women there are great. if you've never gotten a bikini wax, go here. they are patient... & super thorough! they never re-use the wax stick; their wax is very delicate on your skin; & they thread afterwards to get the lose hairs! yes, even there! it is amazing! | |

i was introduced to Shobha by my bestie, Mihal F. I later found out that ALL my girlfriends go here for their coochie waxes but were trying to keep the secret to themselves (heffers... still love you though). Shobha is fantastic. i absolutely adore that when you walk in to their madison location, you're immediately greeted by their super nice an&d well groomed receptionists (for real. you can't work at such a lovely place & have funky eyebrows). within minutes, you're swept up by a staff member and (in my case) brought to a very clean little private room. pants off, wax on, & 15 minutes later you're silky smooth. i always ask for shanu at madison. it's like one stop shopping with her: she's so, so sweet - & awesome at what she does. she blows through a brazilian like slicing through butter (hm, maybe that's awkward to say in relation to coochie waxing, but oh well). she's also phenomenal at threading & always offers a few tips for keeping everything smoother longer. so if you're looking for a place to get a wax then head to Shobha, I promise you won't be disappointed. |
